The last two weeks have been hectic. We have been busy every minute. This past week was transfer week. It comes up every 6 weeks. We have missionaries leaving and missionaries coming. This past week we had 7 "go homes" and 18 "incoming".
7 of the in coming sisters. Right to left: Sister Ballantyne from New York, Sister Schmutz from Utah, Sister Paulson from California, Sister Pike from Utah, Sister Haskell from Utah, Sister Evans from Utah, Sister Bowen from Utah and of course Elder Olsen sitting in the back yard of the mission home.
We took a little trip into Baton Rouge last Saturday. This picture is taken from the top the the State Capitol building. Do you notice something strange? Hint: remember this is a Saturday. Give up? There are very few cars on the streets. The city is a ghost town! Baton Rouge proper is mostly government buildings. Of course, they don't work on Saturday so no one comes to town. It was really weird to be the only ones walking on the street. This shot is taken looking south west down the mighty Mississip.
The capital building. We went almost to the top and took some great pictures. It was really cold that day. Sun was out but it was breezy and chilly.
Each step up to the building has a state written on the step and the year that state entered the union. That's me in the white coat with my hood up. Brrrr! just a few tourists too.
Brent loves the trees.
We visited the Louisiana State Museum. I hope you can read some of this. It is so Louisiana.
Definition of Creole.
And here are some handsome young men who came to visit me in the office one day this week. Elder Burreston from Utah, Elder Asuao from American Samoa and Elder Ageda from Guyana. When Elder Ageda first got here, he was going blind because of cataracts. Sister Wall went to work on trying to find a doctor that would help him for free. He is now cataract free. Blessed because he came to America to serve a mission.
Me and Sister Gordon. Elder and Sister Gordon are going home on March 9. She is a wonderful lady that taught me all about what I need to know in the office. Elder and Sister Gordon are from Boise, Idaho.
Well, that's all I got for now. Love you all. Carol aka Sister Olsen
